The Chief Minister, who also serves as the Minister of External Relations of SM La Salle, has confirmed the official date set by the President for the Third Meeting of the First Session of the 61st Parliament. The meeting, scheduled for 24 October, will mark the final parliamentary sitting before the dissolution of Parliament.
However, the Chief Minister has not yet confirmed the official date for the upcoming school parliamentary election, stating that the matter falls under the jurisdiction of the Election Commission.
“Anything related to the election shall be under the full authority of the Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya (Election Commission). They will be the ones to release the official election writ,” he said.
It was also mentioned that students may be invited to observe the final parliamentary session, though this proposal has not yet been officially confirmed.
The dissolution of Parliament will signify the conclusion of the current parliamentary term and pave the way for the formation of a new government following the school elections.
